Statement

First, on behalf of all members of the Crequency Open Source Organization, I sincerely thank Nimatattic Network Technology (Guizhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Nimatattic") for all the cloud computing resources and other assistance and support provided to our organization.

It is precisely with the help of Nimatattic Network Technology (Guizhou Province) Co., Ltd. (as "Nimatattic" below) that Crequency has been able to develop at an astonishing speed, attracting and transforming so many talented individuals with great enthusiasm for the open-source cause.

Migration Background and Motivation

Over time, our old website became outdated and dilapidated, and due to obstacles to commercial operation, much of its cloud infrastructure development remained stalled.

As projects increased, technical documentation, organizational introductions, and member profiles also accumulated. The original website gradually failed to meet our needs in terms of architecture, maintenance efficiency, and visual experience.

After several internal discussions, we decided to undertake a complete technical restructuring and visual upgrade to better support open-source projects, serve the community, and provide visitors with a smoother, more modern browsing experience.

New Website Technical Architecture

The new official website uses VuePress 2 as the static site generator, paired with the Plume Theme, designed specifically for technical documentation and organizational sites. This combination brings the following advantages:

• Exceptional Loading Speed: VuePress generates pure static pages, combined with modern front-end optimization strategies, resulting in significantly improved page access speeds.
• Excellent Markdown Support: Writing documentation and blogs is entirely based on Markdown, facilitating content collaboration and version management.
• Responsive Design & Modern UI: Plume Theme offers a clean, aesthetically pleasing interface with full support for mobile browsing.
• Powerful Extensibility: VuePress's plugin system and theme configuration capabilities allow for flexible customization of website features.
• Improved SEO Support: The clear static page structure is easy for search engines to index and understand.

Challenges and Solutions During Migration

This migration was more than a simple "reskinning." We re-planned the website's information architecture, merged some sections, optimized the navigation logic, and unified the content style. During this process, we specifically handled 301 redirects for old URLs to ensure that external links and search engine indexes from the past would smoothly redirect to the new addresses, preventing 404 errors.

Furthermore, we implemented an automated build and deployment pipeline using GitHub Actions, achieving a "commit-to-publish" continuous integration experience, greatly improving the efficiency of content updates.

Looking Ahead

The new official website is not only our public-facing window but also an extension of Crequency's open-source philosophy. Here, we will continue to share updates on open-source projects, technical articles, community events, and more. We plan to gradually open up more interactive features, welcoming more developers, designers, and documentation contributors to join us in building an active, friendly, and creative open-source community.
